Mcleodganj



Mcleodganj the Little Lhasa in India. It is the address of the tibetan religious teacher and leader His religiousness. Dalai Lama and the tibetian government in exile regularly called as “Little Lhasa”. Under the Himalayas, the Dhaluadhars, the place is a beautiful hill station and a world known destination. This place is not an common Indian hill station, but it’s wholly a different place being in contact with the whole world but has an surroundings of its own. It’s an old British place. Mcleodganj-mcllo is a world famous traveler destination. Foreigners from all over the world and many other celebrities visit this small hill town.

Earlier, Mcleod Ganj hill station was under the British rule. It was a place where British officer and their families spent hot summers. By 1855, Mcleod Ganj and Forsyht Ganj were two important placed of civilian defrayal. Later on these places became important centers of do business, commerce and official work of Kangra District. But the earthquake of 1905 damaged a lot of buildings, therefore the district headquarter shifted to lower parts. Later on, in 1959, The Indian Government offered shelter to Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama. He was permitted to make Mcleod Ganj his headquarters.
